It’s the busiest time of the year for Red Bomb Fireworks in Selkirk. The local retailer at 609 Greenwood Ave., that supplies Blast-Off fireworks, has been gearing up for Canada Day.

Red Bomb president Matt Bialek said that the company has been in Selkirk since 2009 and that they have since outgrown their first location just down the street on Mercy. He noted the infrastructure and the population base made Selkirk the perfect location in the Interlake. The retail operation is under the name Red Bomb, whereas the supplier aspect of the business is under the name Blast Off.

“This is still one of the only productions out there that brings people together,” he said. “Getting to see the end users reaction is pretty rewarding…You see everyone from a little kid that can barley walk up to a grandparent that is having a show for their grandchildren. It’s really neat to see the end satisfaction and that end result.”
