All schools in the Lord Selkirk School Division are currently in a hold and secure Tuesday after receiving information of a potential threat through a text message.

A notice was posted on the school division web site alerting parents of the situation and informing them of the process if they want to pick up their children.

“We believe the safest place for students is inside the school,” read the notice.

However, if parents do pick up their children, the process is as follows: Go to the front door of school; a staff member will get the child; and students will be released to parents at front doors.

The hold and secure will be removed once RCMP say it is safe to do so.
