Local artist Joe Nolan received three nominations at the Edmonton Music Awards this year. He walked away with the Blues Recording of the Year Award for his song “All You Gotta Do.

“I’ve been nominated before but you never feel like you’re going to win, so it was a nice surprise. I’ve always had a weird opinion of awards and what they represent but it was actually a real honour and it was so nice to be recognized in Edmonton,” Nolan said.

He was also nominated for Roots/Folk Recording of the Year and Album of the Year.

The Fort Saskatchewan native returned from Germany this week, where he performed at a 4-day festival.

He will be performing at the Edmonton Folk Festival, which is just a part of his busy summer. “I’ll be doing more recording this fall and then probably touring Europe again in late fall, touring the States in September,” he explained.
